Login →The Essential Tool for Safe Precast Lifting
The Rubber Recess Former is a critical accessory for precast concrete manufacturers using the ball head (spherical) lifting anchor system. Its primary function is to create the exact hemispherical void in the concrete around the anchor head, allowing the lifting clutch to be attached safely and securely after the concrete has cured. Durable & Flexible Design Unlike single-use plastic formers, our recess formers are crafted from high-grade, oil-resistant rubber. This material is tough enough to maintain its shape under the pressure of wet concrete but flexible enough to be removed manually once the concrete hardens. Cost-Effective Reusability Built for longevity, these rubber formers can be used for dozens of casting cycles. Their smooth surface allows for easy cleaning and quick re-attachment, significantly reducing your consumable costs over time. Key Benefits:- Perfect Fit: Molds the exact recess shape required for standard lifting clutches (ring couplings).
- Easy Removal: The flexible rubber design allows the former to be peeled out of the hardened concrete without chipping the edges.
- Versatile Mounting: Can be attached to the formwork using magnetic fixing plates (for steel tables) or threaded holding plates.
- Anchor Protection: Encases the anchor head during pouring, preventing concrete slurry from fouling the lifting point.

Application Instructions
- Assembly: Push the ball head of the steel anchor into the rubber recess former. It should fit snugly.
- Mounting: Attach the former to the formwork.
- For steel tables: Use a magnetic holding plate.
- For timber: Use a screw-on holding plate.
- Pouring: Pour the concrete. The tight rubber seal prevents slurry from entering the anchor head area.
- Demolding: Once the concrete is cured, remove the formwork.
- Removal: Use a removal tool or manual force to pop the rubber former out of the concrete recess, leaving the anchor head exposed and ready for lifting.
