Holding force of magnets: everything you need to know

What is holding force?

The holding force of a magnet is the maximum force required to remove the magnet perpendicularly from a steel surface. For formwork applications, this is expressed in Newton (N).

Choosing the right holding force

The required holding force depends on element weight, vibrations during concrete placement, and temperature. We recommend a safety factor of 3–5x the element weight.
